The Islands Afterdark is a room-to-room haunted walkthrough built inside and around our home. Each area has its own theme, scares, sounds, props and surprises. We won't show you the route — you'll have to find out what's waiting for yourself.
Scares can come from where you least expect them. Hidden actors, sudden movement and carefully timed surprises are part of the experience.
Keep your eyes open. Walls, windows and seemingly quiet spaces may not stay quiet for long.
Moving props, animatronics, lighting, sound effects and practical scares help bring the haunt to life.
Expect screams, bangs, eerie audio and other sudden sound effects throughout the walkthrough.
You may hear one before you see it. Chainsaw-style scare effects are part of the more intense portion of the haunt.
Live scare actors and creepy characters inhabit the experience — including clowns and other nightmares we aren't revealing yet.
Expect a pirate-themed opening with cannon effects, atmospheric sound, and themed characters.
A toxic biohazard scene may include gross-out props, sick-room details, slime, simulated contamination and vomiting effects.
Spider webs, creepy-crawly props and close-up themed effects are part of the walkthrough.
An electric-chair scare scene brings together lighting, sound and theatrical effects for a more intense moment.
Low visibility, dark rooms, ghostly figures and sudden appearances are all part of the atmosphere.
Expect colored lighting, sudden lighting changes, flashing effects and moments of near-total darkness.
Without giving away the route, themes you may encounter include pirates and cannons, a toxic biohazard scene, a web-filled spider area, ghosts, a haunted doll bedroom, a gruesome kitchen butcher scene, blood and gore effects, a disturbing padded room, clowns and circus elements, an electric chair, vomiting/gross-out effects, and other surprises we are keeping secret.
The beginning of the walkthrough is designed to be more approachable for families and younger guests. Before the experience transitions into the more intense, gory and frightening portion, there is a clearly marked Kid-Friendly Exit. Parents and guardians can choose to exit there with their group.
But they may get close. Please return the favor: do not touch, grab, hit or push our actors, props, animatronics or set pieces.
These rules protect our guests, actors, volunteers, monsters, props, home and neighborhood. Please review them before entering so everyone can have a safe, fun night.
Actors will not intentionally touch you. Do not touch actors, monsters, staff, props, animatronics, décor, walls or set pieces.
Follow the marked path, keep moving at a safe pace and do not enter actor corridors, backstage spaces or blocked-off areas.
Walk at all times. Darkness and effects can reduce visibility. Running, shoving or reckless behavior is not permitted.
Do not bring firearms, knives, replica weapons, laser pointers, fireworks or other dangerous items onto the property.
Please do not smoke, vape, bring alcohol or enter while visibly intoxicated or impaired.
Keep phones secured while walking through. Flashlights, flash photography and disruptive recording may ruin scares and create safety issues.
Please keep voices and music reasonable while arriving and leaving, do not block driveways and dispose of trash properly.
Please follow instructions from Fear Fathers staff and volunteers. Unsafe, destructive or abusive behavior may result in immediate removal from the haunt.
This walkthrough may include strobe or flashing effects, theatrical fog/haze, intense sound, sudden loud noises, darkness, confined or tight spaces, strong scents, startling movement, simulated gore and frightening imagery. Guests with sensitivities to flashing lights, fog, loud sound, strong scents or intense startle effects should use caution and decide whether the attraction is appropriate for them.
The beginning of the walkthrough is intended to be more family friendly. A clearly marked kid-friendly exit is provided before the gore and scarier portion begins. Parents and guardians should use their own judgment based on each child's comfort level.

When FearFathers.com is published, this can send each RSVP to a Google Sheet and automatically email you the submission. The iPhone file preview blocks that backend functionality, so this version is for testing the design and navigation.
The Islands Afterdark takes place in a residential neighborhood. Help us keep this tradition fun for our guests and respectful to the families who live around us.
Thank you for helping Fear Fathers be good neighbors.
